I used to struggle with difficulty making decisions, leaving everything until the last minute, feeling stuck in emotions like anxiety, guilt, and irritability, and experiencing “yo-yo” moods depending on the circumstances of the day.

Then, I started practicing mindfulness and really becoming more aware of my emotions and how they influenced me.  I combined my knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy along with mindfulness and self-compassion practices to really understand that I was resisting my emotions… and that was keeping me stuck.

I started learning what my emotional triggers were and how those emotions affected me.  I listened to my body and my mind and accepted myself instead of judging myself for my emotions.

As a result, I started feeling more in control of my actions and less controlled by my “moodiness.”  It felt freeing and empowering.  I stopped always taking out my emotions on those close to me (although I’m not perfect!) and I started to work with myself and my needs.
